It’s OK to take a vacation – really! I admit it. I’m a little cheap. But I’d prefer if you called me “thrifty.” Ever since I can remember, I’ve been finding great deals on just about everything. Being thrifty can be lots of fun, but you just have to know how to approach it.

When it comes to raising money for local babies, Helen Fellows hasn’t missed a beat in 40 years. Today, the 73-year-old Bow resident will lace up her sneakers and walk 5 miles in the March for Babies to bring in funds for research and programs that support families affected by premature birth.

‘Pandemic’ fears grow as swine flu reaches U.S. (New Hampshire Union Leader)

A new swine flu strain has killed as many as 68 people and sickened more than 1,000 across Mexico. The disease has reached Texas and California. In New Hampshire, public health officials are meeting today to discuss the latest information from the CDC. Look for a full report tomorrow on this site and in the New Hampshire Sunday News.

NH State Senate Passes Gay Marriage Bill (Gay City News)
